What adverbs do

Adverbs modify verbs , adjectives , or other adverbs — they answer how? , when? , where? , how much?

Many end in -mente (from adjectives). Placement matters. Do not confuse muy (very + adjective/adverb) with mucho (a lot + verb/noun).

Forming adverbs with -mente

Add -mente to the feminine singular adjective: rápida → rápidamente , lenta → lentamente .

Two adverbs together: both keep -mente on the second only in careful style — lenta y claramente is common in speech.
